Post-Hawaiian Happenings.

We're still planning on posting more about our Hawaii trip, but for now here are some different updates.
We bought a new car! Yes, we traded in the cramped Acura RSX in favor of something a little more practical: a 2007 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. This car will provide some legroom for our guests, while allowing us to brave the snowy mountains during ski season. Since the Outback is by far the most popular car in this city, I guess that makes us real Seattleites now.
In completely unrelated news, while biking on Alki today we witnessed two rare sights. First, a baby harbor seal was basking in the sun next to the bike path. Incredibly cute! Just down the road from the seal, we saw a seagull carrying a freshly caught fish in his mouth that was almost as big as him. Incredibly absurd!
The real tragedy is that was didn't have a camera with us.

Nice! Is it silver, like the one in the photo?

Sweet, welcome to the Subaru Club!!! You might not know this, but all new Subaru owners, including me, get a personalized phone call from Martina Navratilova and Mr. 'Crocodile Dundee' Paul Hogan himself. Man, those 2 worked out some sweet endorsement deals.
Yep! It's "urban gray" - a shiny dark charcoal color. Can't wait to break it in.
John, which model do you drive? It cracks me up that the only two people I know with Subarus replied to this post. =) Can't wait for the phone call... hmm.
Hope all is well!
ciao, h.
As long as we don't get a call from the Crocodile Hunter from beyond the grave! That would just be spooky.
We drive a 2005 Subaru Outback 2.5i in Willow Green Opal. Interestingly enough it is the color that 9 out of 10 urban hipster GLBT gardeners prefer -- go figure.
I'll let you in on the double-secret Subaru handshake next time we talk!!
My last (dearly departed) car was a Suburbu, that thing was great, if and when I get a car again, that is what I intend to buy, but probably a smaller one.
Hmmm, who would have guessed that there were so many Subaru drivers amongst our friends? Good stuff. =)
John, I imagine yours is quite similar to ours, unless you have the full-length wagon. I couldn't handle the thought of parallel parking a car quite that long. Awesome statistic, by the way. ;)
