Oscar night + stomach aches.

S got a little excited about Oscar night and ate/drank the following:
  • 4 pieces of pizza
  • 2 ice cream bars
  • 2 giant glasses of chocolate milk

What followed? Let's just say he woke up hurting in the middle of the night. Blah!

Otherwise, the Oscars were pretty darn entertaining last night. We loved the Will Ferrell/Jack Black song. Also quite happy about the nods given to "An Inconvenient Truth". =)

All set.

Well, we are closing on our house a week from today. Talk about fast! We did a pre-inspection (to make our bid stronger) and the owners have already purchased another house, so we're good to go. There is soooo much to do. We need to purge, pack, and think about how our stuff will fit into the new place. The last time we bought a house, our old couch wouldn't fit through the front door. Fingers crossed that won't happen this time. =)

Greenwood.

See this little Craftsman beauty?

As of last night, she's all ours!!! We'll be moving in less than 3 weeks to a cute little neighborhood one mile northwest of our favorite park, Green Lake. We are totally pumped. It's not the biggest house, but it's old on the outside, updated and modern on the inside, and hopefully a great investment. And a front porch in Seattle? Well, that's practically unheard of. We're ready for guests, so start packing. ;)

And now that the stress of house hunting is over, we'll be leaving for Whistler this weekend with our pals Scott and Nathan. Totally looking forward to a few days of good skiing, yummy food, and nice scenery. =)

Haters love it.

For our friends who have been to the Cupcake Royale (and to those who might consider visiting soon!): S and I tried this divine little Valentine's creation over the weekend. It was rich, made us go a little bit crazy, and delish. And I got a t-shirt with the cute little skull-and-crossbones cupcake on it. Sweet!

In other news, S passed his professional exam on Monday! So, he is now officially a "CCNA". If you don't know what that means, you'll have to ask him! =)

Lookie here!

Look who we saw on the webcam yesterday! The whole family... Aubree is holding her head up really well now. I love the way she actually seems to look at me when we're all chatting. I'm sure this whole set-up will be pretty confusing when she's older. She's going to think that we live in a computer!

Colts Extravaganza.

For those of us excited about the Colts victorious run to the Super Bowl title, Sports Illustrated is offering a package of the highlights DVD, book, and commemorative football if you subscribe. Quite the deal!

You can get the DVD at Amazon too:

This has been a public service announcement for Colts fans. ;)

Busy, busy.

We are behind.

Shawn is studying for a professional certification exam. I've started a new job. We're house hunting. I'm freelancing after work hours. So, emails, projects, and phone calls have fallen to the back burner.

The moral here? Please don't think we're bad friends! =)

It's kind of a shocking feeling.

The Colts win!!! Who the hell saw that coming?! =) Hopefully S will actually blog about this at some point. ;)
Above: We watched with our two Indiana-turned-Seattleite friends, Andy & Nathan. And, yes, we even let a Bears fan join us.

The (most) Super Bowl.

Could this day move any more slowly?
GO COLTS!

And how often will you see Peyton on the cover of the Seattle paper?

When it's appealing.

It's raining here for the first day in a long time. Seattle's weather has been so appealing lately. The sun has been shining, the mountains have been in full view, and it's winter?! Anyhow, this little weather comparison is totally wacky today and we are pretty glad to be here (even if we are sitting in a big black cloud of doom).

We may live in Seattle...

But we live in a Colts house! Three days til the big game, so we have happily hung this giant flag that Mom sent after last week's AFC Championship win. My parents are going to the Super Bowl and leave on Saturday. It's also Mom's birthday while they are away, so let's hope she gets what she wants this year--a Colts win! ;)
PS: Like the decaying paint job on the side of our rental home? Ack.
