I hate plastic bags.

Loving this story-go San Fran! Hopefully the rest of the country will follow soon.
San Francisco thinks green: Plastic grocery bags banned

Also, at a recent excursion to Ikea, we were pretty stoked to see this plan put into action: Bag the Plastic Bag

Sweet babe.

Just got back from a quick trip home to celebrate my sister's bridal shower. The weather was divine and Sis was spoiled rotten. What more could a girl ask for?

Enjoyed seeing my 5-month old niece again. Nearly every time she looked at me, she would break into a big smile. Granted, she does this for most people, but it still warmed me every time. She's a happy, friendly baby too adorable to resist! I also got to witness a first--the first time she stuck her toes in her mouth. Ha ha!!! =) Photo below...

My friend, Beth, and her little man at the park...
Sis glowing at her shower & the cupcakes we were lovin'...

Also went on a great bender in Chicago that involved sangria, Tetris, Bloc Party, and a reunion with an old friend... but this post is really too sweet to mention such atrocities! ;)

Moving.

Having recently transplanted to Seattle... and again into a house just two weeks ago, I can totally relate to this blog piece from The Stranger. Man, mixtapes were a cherished item when S and I were both younger. Even today, we still make crazy ipod playlists constantly.

One part domestic, two parts rock-n-roll.

So, the 32-year old me got to meet a favorite crafty gal, Ali Edwards, this weekend. As a bonus, the editor of a certain crafty magazine was also sitting two seats away from me in the class.

And then, last night... We went to see Bloc Party/Final Fantasy/Smoosh. The much-younger-me (that still loves going to shows and obsessing over music) got to meet Russell from the Bloc. Shawn was a good sport and we were able to chat with him for quite awhile. The other three never surfaced, but this was still a pretty swell moment.

{Notice the spooning action here? S had to lean back into his arms... LOL!}

{...and my giant OMG pop-eyes... what a weekend!}

So, we're going to Portland tonight...

And now this pops up:

What is an obssessed fan to do? Waaaaah.

The late winter of rock {+ other things}.

We are sort of moved in. The kitchen rocks, but the rest of the house is pretty much a disaster. We are having The Container Store kit out the bedroom closets b/c there are only *two* closets in the entire house. Zoinks!

So, what are we doing in between all the unpacking? We have chosen to ignore it and are running off to Portland tonight. Shawn is going to hang in the greatest of all bookstores, Powell's, while I take a class with my favorite crafty gal, Ali Edwards. =) While we're there, we are also going to check out Youth Group at the Doug Fir, a really swank cabin-esque club next to our hotel. We're coming back to catch Bloc Party here in Seattle... the first of many awesome shows heading our way. All in all, a very busy weekend w/very little unpacking.

Checking out...

We are officially starting the move tonight. So, we will be connected only by phone for awhile. Fingers crossed nothing breaks (including our backs!). =)
