A quick visit.

Mom came for a quick visit last week to attend a fundraising event for my job. We have three benefit luncheons every spring and this was the last one for the year. Erin Brockovich was the guest speaker. She was really cool and just as you would expect. I spent the entire day photographing her which was a bit of a treat... Mom and S enjoyed meeting her, as well.

We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out near the flowering rhododendrons at a local park, going to the market, painting the bathroom, and unstopping the toilet (again). Even if life can't always be glamorous, it was still nice to have her here. =)







And the best part? We got a little sunshine, as well!

In this article about class creating the ultimate split between Prince William and his gf of many years, CNN has distastefully placed a little poll in the lower corner asking Americans if the British are snobs. The results are currently showing an overwhelming 90% are voting yes. WTF?

I am mildly offended that this poll even exists. Hoping that my beloved Brits will never sink so low to ask whether or not we Americans are ignorant and ethnocentric. If they see this display by CNN, I think I know what their answer might be.

Not much for now...

It's been quiet on this little blog. We are both swamped with busy, busy times at work. When we come home at night, we are on our feet until bed time trying to get boxes unpacked, things organized, so on and so forth.

This week, we also started renovating our two small bedrooms. We painted, tore up nasty carpet, and now a contractor is installing gleaming new hardwoods. There are no photos to share b/c my camera cable has been misplaced in the move. Hopefully it will resurface soon...

Mom's coming to visit next week, so I expect that things will be in order after the weekend and we will be ready to slow down!
